We use high quality scissors every day in our quality control lab and it's important that they are sharp. Our old sharpener is finally worn out after many years of service and is no longer available. I was looking for this type of sharpener and decided to try this one after Walmart's cheap Fiskers model failed to cut it. I'm glad I only bought one because it's a piece of junk! Actually made the scissors worse and I had to try and save them with a cheap Fiskers model. Bad stone angles, plastic shavings cut like cheese, and a toy that looks like a plastic assembly. "Smith since 1886" is written on the instrument, but "Made in China" is also stamped on it and it shows. For 1/4 the price it would be a waste of money.
