Backing paper is very difficult to cleanly remove when packaged. Take a sharp knife and cut the paper (try not to reach the glue) from the corner of the patch across the paper to the middle. You can then bend the screen slightly and you will see the paper layer, which can then be carefully removed. Glue is basically double-sided tape. The patch stands out, mainly because of the tape. I suspect that over time dirt will build up on the sticky side of the tape. If you just need to patch a small hole without having to replace the entire screen, then this is a worthy product. I don't expect this to be a long renovation, but I'm curious to see how long it lasts.
