FOR PERSONS WITH LOW MINERAL WATER CONTENT ONLY! It's a rarity. Most people have too many minerals in their water! You can use a TDS meter to check how much dissolved solids (minerals) are in your tap water. But remember, TDS only tests ALL solids, not just the minerals needed for shrimp. The main mineral they need is calcium to build their armor. Instead of stones, you can use shrimp food or other foods that are already fortified with calcium. Besides, they're fine. Only very expensive stones. They have never touched my shrimp. This would be helpful for people using reverse osmosis water for their shrimp tanks.
