Ideal for traveling and at home

I bought a Canine Camper 25x18x21 about a month ago to use when we travel by car. This is the perfect size for my 12lb 9 year old. mini dachshund. This protects her and prevents her from jumping into the car. I also have a cinnamon fleece liner (a good choice for a red mini Doxy) for padding (not supplied with Camper). I didn't notice the strong smell that others have described. It was only when I got very close to the camper (with my nose on) that I could detect a faint odor. I assume this will pass over time. I don't think it's a big deal. My dog doesn't seem to mind either. The Canine Camper is well made and I love the doors on the sides and top. This is useful, especially when traveling, I can reach out to pet her or give her a treat from above. Although the camper doesn't have side flaps to cover the mesh windows, I cover the camper with a towel and it works great to cover the openings. I bought it for travel but now we use it as the main couch inside, sort of a "dog kennel". When we're out in the car, I just grab it by the handles and put it on the back seat. The Canine Camper is a little pricey, but the quality and features make it worth paying a little more for. It was a good choice for my needs and I recommend it to others.
