This is a genuine disk cloning device and I bought it to backup my desktop that I use for work and it has a disk bay where I can easily insert the drive from the front can eject. Creating a full backup is really easy, and if the drive I'm using fails, I can just pop in the backup drive and be back up to speed in about 30 seconds. I can also clone the drive and convert it to a another desktop in another house, and BAM! I can pick up where I left off on another computer. So these things come in really handy when you want to clone a drive. BUT as the title says, this is my second one and the source drive connector in this thing doesn't contain the drive and doesn't recognize it from the lights on the front of the unit. But it recognizes it perfectly on another disk cloning device. So I'm giving this one 1 star because it seems cheap and I'm not really happy that out of the two I bought one was defective to begin with. But I love them because they are really comfortable for me.
