If you're looking to improve your playing before your next small meeting, this set of gold-marbled plastic plates and utensils is for you. We're having a lot of fun, and while we don't want to break china, we don't want to use paper plates either, so these plastic plates and utensils are the perfect compromise. First of all, they look great - the design is both classic and modern - and yes, people mistook them for real porcelain before even picking them up. Above all, they are very functional. Medium-weight plastic won't bend or yield like paper plates and stands up to being cut with a knife. Plastic utensils are nice and durable, so the tines of the forks won't bend or break (although I wouldn't cut a steak with knives). I have family members who wash and reuse these plates and they will be used many times, but life is too short in my opinion to wash disposable plates so I only use them once. It should be noted that they are NOT suitable for microwave heating as the gold metal will cause sparks in the microwave. Also, this is a set of 100 items, but this is only a service for 20 people (i.e. one plate, salad bowl, knife, fork and spoon for every 20 people.
