I bought this to make it easier to replace the fan motor in my fan. The instructions were vague and not detailed and you had to modify the case to fit the new device. After removing the old fan and remodeling the case, the new fan assembly did not fit. After spending a lot of time on this I finally removed the modification I had just made and removed the new fan motor from the new unit and replaced the old fan on the old bracket which worked fine. Save yourself the hassle and just buy the motor for about 1/3 the cost, which is a lot easier and faster.
