Review on Motorcraft BT 30 Belt Tensioner by Joshua Talbot

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The bearing was not installed correctly.

I understand that production issues arise from time to time. But when buying a Motorcraft part I expect everything to fit perfectly. Rarely have Motorcraft products disappointed me, but this time they did. It came with a pulley that rubs on a lever. I double checked the part numbers and pulley size and everything was correct. I disassembled the old part, which required some effort. and found that the bearing on the old part was positioned differently. It was pressed all the way up against the lip where there was a gap of about 1/8 inch between the bearing and the lip of the new bearing. Correctly installed and working properly. So if you get this and the pulley is rubbing on the lever, that's probably your problem, give it a call, would you send it back or fix it yourself, for sure it's better to request a new one.
