First off I'd like to say I'm not using it for its intended purpose so I can't rate it in a homebrewing context . I bought this because I couldn't find what I needed in a custom gallon sized container cold tea brewer. Its hard bottom makes it less than ideal for this purpose, and it's also difficult to scrape loose leaf tea. The screw cap has holes much larger than the pore size on the sides of the strainer, which sometimes allows the tea leaves to spill out as they naturally rise and fall in the water column during brewing. Be careful when using and cleaning. I still use it for containers because I don't have my own brewer like it's made for ceramic jars or for camping, but its limitations are encouraging me to learn to work with stainless steel mesh and perforated sheets in hopes of finding the best mousetrap for to make you.
