Made a world of difference in my tiny kitchen! After reading the reviews my biggest concern was that cooking on the opposite side would get too hot; However, it's not hot at all near the burners, even when they're on maximum heat. My guess is that people who have had the ones that exploded left them too close or right on the hot burners. I bought two of these and only put one away when I cook. I definitely wouldn't use it as a cutting board, but I don't like glass cutting boards. It's also quite slippery so it won't stay on the stovetop, but it doesn't matter how I use it. I love it!
