Review on [initeq] 6-32 Threaded Heat Set Inserts for 3D Printing (Pack of 100, Short Length) by John Pound

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Short is good, long is bad.

First I bought the short version in a pack of 50. They worked great and worked well. I wanted more so I bought a pack of 100 which is the long version. Not only are they long, but they're also larger in diameter, so you'll need more wall material than for short ones. They are also boring and the screws are very sloppy and almost don't hold the threads in use. If you only put the screw in the first half there will not be enough thread contact to hold the screw and you can push and pull the screw and it will just scratch the threads. Once you're halfway the threads will start to touch and the bolt won't pull out, but it will have plenty of up and down and side to side play. I come back looking for another brand better than QC.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Long delivery
