Simply amazing: Heat Set Inserts

Nothing special about them other than they are PERFECT for my needs. They are MUCH smaller than they appear in the picture and fit all of my existing screws. and if you have 3D printers that require this, they give your models a very professional look.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • shades

Well done, nice to work with.

I bent the soldering iron tip on my lathe so I can melt it easily. a replacement for helicoils where the existing plastic threads have been removed. They can also be filled with epoxy.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Are they marked with M4 x 0.7 inserts?

Thread #6-32 is screwed in about 5 turns and then screwed in. Screw #6-32 also wobbles a bit when screwed in. Also, only 51 out of 100 received claims. Interestingly, if you look at it in the light, it shows QTY 50 M4 x 0.7. It would be interesting to try the M4 screw with it. Edit 12/07/2021. I tried an M4 bolt with these bits marked #6-32 and yes they fit perfectly.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Accessible when replacing

Short is good, long is bad.

First I bought the short version in a pack of 50. They worked great and worked well. I wanted more so I bought a pack of 100 which is the long version. Not only are they long, but they're also larger in diameter, so you'll need more wall material than for short ones. They are also boring and the screws are very sloppy and almost don't hold the threads in use. If you only put the screw in the first half there will not be enough thread contact to hold the screw and you can push and pull the screw

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Long delivery

Strong PLA compound for threaded inserts

Works great. I was able to find the dimensions of another product [initeq] Threaded Heat Shrink Inserts for Composite Plastic (Imperial + Metric) Set A 200pcs. I used .206" for the top hole and .185" for the bottom hole spaced .250". I also enlarged the .185" hole to the length of my bolt. For the screw I used The Hillman Group 101040 6-32" x 1-1/2" Pan Head Phillips Machine Screw, pack of 100. I did a stress test after installing it in a test box. I tried turning the bolt sideways to see if…

Pros
  • Stylish design
