We bought some self-adjusting wire strippers from Irwin not long ago and love them. It was necessary to purchase another smaller scale set. I didn't want to sacrifice that self-adaptation, so they caught my attention after looking around. For the price what could I go wrong? At least half the cost of Irwins. It has more specific instructions for repeatable stripping, which is what we needed. It's also able to strip a few wires at a time fairly reliably, which speeded up our build. So far he has made at least 500 strips and had no problems. We love the beautiful simple, sturdy design and it met our needs and surprised us a little. Fewer moving parts, simple but strong grip and movement, great product. It is mostly made of plastic. I don't know how durable it will be in a toolbox, but it also has the added benefit of being lightweight and making stripping multiple times a less tedious task. We began affectionately calling him "Tookie" after his bird appearance. It is definitely recommended as a great addition to your toolbox.
