not bad for the money. I have some 26 and 28 gauge wires to prepare for soldering. The first pair of these wires broke then I loosened the tensioner and it worked fine. That's barely enough for 28 gauge. In this caliber you really want to have made something that wasn't a stamped and named tool, but much more precise in its movement. From a size over 26 it works great and has a well placed sharp cutting blade.

Works great with heavier gauge wire and speaker wire

Works as advertised with heavier gauge wire 16 and up. I couldn't strip the 14 gauge wire. So the seller needs to change the advertised sweep from 10-gauge to 24-gauge to 16-gauge to 24-gauge. These tools cannot cut 14 gauge plastic wire. but softer plastics at higher calibers are no problem and this tool works great. Other than that, the seller is an excellent seller who will support the product and replace it for free. However, this tool needs to be touted for what it is good for - 16 gauge…

Makes life easier. Everyone needs these

. My main application for them is 2-wire 22AWG (connecting LED strips to each other and to the power supply). My fingers don't cramp when I pinch wires with traditional wire strippers. The gauge in these wire strippers is easy to read and allows you to strip the same length of wire EVERY time. ABSOLUTELY. After about 500 uses, I definitely plan on using them for at least another 2-3 years. teeth grip) so they can work. However, all stripping tools require this, so this is not a problem. You…

Great idea, but this tool will scratch the ladder.

The movement is basically a quick simple pull (although I've tried all sorts of things!) and the wire is stripped. The limiter works and there is an adjustment knob, but it's hard to tell what exactly is being adjusted (I ended up tracking rotations and trying lots of positions). I bought this because I need to assemble a wire harness using Amplime crimp contacts. and the stopper works great to consistently cut the right length. The problem I have is that real conductors get scratched. The…

Cheap but works well. for some time.

This is the second Knoweasy wire stripper I've bought and I'll tell you why. I figured I would have to do about 100 cuts/strips, but last week about 3/4 of the way the plastic inner hinge broke. You can see that the hole for the handle's pivot/full point was far from center. So the thin edge broke when stripping 14 AWG stranded copper wire (van wiring). I probably have to do 15 or 20 more strips so I decided to buy another cheapest wire stripper. That works fine. It s cheap. I could buy Klein…

Become your best wire stripper

We bought some self-adjusting wire strippers from Irwin not long ago and love them. It was necessary to purchase another smaller scale set. I didn't want to sacrifice that self-adaptation, so they caught my attention after looking around. For the price what could I go wrong? At least half the cost of Irwins. It has more specific instructions for repeatable stripping, which is what we needed. It's also able to strip a few wires at a time fairly reliably, which speeded up our build. So far he has

Luckily I didn't have any problems with it BUT see recommendation below

Admittedly this stripper is really creepy. I got it because I needed to strip equal lengths of 24 gauge threaded ribbon wire, which wasn't easy with my regular hand strippers. When he first stripped the wire, I jumped in surprise and the grenade flew across my desk. The strippers make a very loud clicking noise, which convinced me they probably only ripped half the threads; However, when I checked, I couldn't find any damage to the wires. After crimping that end I tried another and was able to…

The perfect tool for assembling power supply cables

I bought this to make homemade PC power cables. If you are making a complete set of power supply wires, you will need to strip more than 100 ends to the same length to prepare the ends for crimping the connectors. I used 16 AWG PVC wire for this job. First, several copper conductors were severed. This kit has a tool for that. With a little fiddling with this setup, I stripped all of the insulation without cutting any of the conductors. As for the strip length, it was a bit difficult to adjust…
