These are beautifully crafted pieces of plumbing fittings. They have a few features (I'm not sure if they're unique to this set) that seem mundane at first, and then turn out to be very useful. First, how they are attached to the device. This is a connector fitting where you first connect the adapter to the heater inlet/outlet and then once you have the rest of your plumbing in place you attach the connector fitting to the top of the valves on the tank. If this feature didn't exist, you'd have to spend another $20 on unions to get it right. Second, the working side of the valves have separate spools. On some cheaper models, turning the service knobs (yellow) will close the inlet/outlet and open the service ports. Well that works well enough, but what if I want to fill a bucket with hot water straight from the water heater or connect a hose to a cold water tap? It's easy with these valves. With the valves in their normal "on" position you can simply use them as a bib for your hot/cold water hose. They appear to be of excellent quality.
