Review on 🔦 Versatile and Convenient Ultra Bright Hands-Free Clip-on Hat Light: Rechargeable Waterproof LED Flashlight Headlamp for Fishing, Camping, Work, and Sports by Victor Pinckney

I use a cap-light primarily when I take my dog out at night. With both hands free, I can easily pass the leash from one hand to the other when she unexpectedly darts in a different direction during her adventures. This purchase replaced a cheaply made cap-light that finally broke during replacement of 3 AAA batteries. This set appealed because no battery replacement is required.First, the good: I like the two-pack so I have a backup, in case I forget to recharge the unit I'm using, although the recharge cycle is very short. It also (slightly) reduces the unit cost. The main center spotlight is extremely bright, projecting a beam that rivals flashlights 10 times its size.Next, the meh: The "features" of these units make an impressive list of bullet points in the sales listing, but they are mostly useless. The "ambient" side LEDs aren't bright enough to be useful for any activity in the dark that I can think of. All they do is complicate the two-sided on/off switch such that it's easy to hit the wrong side of the switch and turn on the LEDs you don't want. The front half of the switch turns on the main spotlight; press again and it dims the main spotlight to about 40% brightness. When did you ever wish you had a really dim light to poorly illuminate what you were doing? So when you want to turn off the spotlight, two presses of the switch are required. Over time, this is annoying. The motion-sensing switching works, but you have to remember not to pass your hand in front of the light or you'll plunge yourself into darkness unexpectedly. Also, when the unit is in motion-sensing mode, the on/off switch brightly glows blue, which is distracting when you're trying to see in the dark.Finally, the bad: The product photos make these units look well-made and durable with all their "tactical" bumps. In fact, they are cheaply made of thin plastic parts that don't fit together seamlessly. The silicone "dust cover" for the charging port is utterly useless, as it won't stay stuck in the charging port. Best to just pull it out of its socket (easily done) and throw it away. The carrying case is actually made of higher quality materials and workmanship that its contents.Bottom line: These cap-lights work as advertised, but they are kinda junky and for that reason, a little overpriced. When they break, I will replace them with hopefully better quality.
