Sometimes it is the simple things that impress the most. I had a modern rolling pin made of some sort of plastic finish that was bulky and spun independently of the handles. It never worked quite right. I never had a feel for the finer things I was trying to shape, control, and roll. I mean, it flattened things sure. But the finesse and control wasn't there. I love experimenting in the kitchen with new ideas and recipes. And the more doughs and noodles and what have yous I tried the more I became displeased with my bulky rolling pin. I highly considered one with a taper but when I saw this one I knew it was the one. Thin and light enough for the control and finesse I was looking for while also being broad and flat enough for a demanding job. I can control a thin wrapper or a tough thick pie crust with this thing. The finish is smooth, the stain is beautiful, and size is just right. Another lovely weapon for the kitchen arsenal.
