That does not work. ACTIVE DisplayPort adapter required

My PC uses 3 displays. I replaced my current wires which were a bit busted and the video came and went while the wires shook. The wire chain looks like this; Display - VGA to DVI - DVI to DisplayPort - PC. I've replaced this setup with the updated cabling as follows: VGA to HDMI - HDMI to DisplayPort. This product froze my startup 2 times and then I had the blue screen disabled and everything worked fine. I think I need an ACTIVE DisplayPort adapter.
