Front hood gas struts just installed to replace a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Installation is very simple: 1. Support the hood with a piece of wood or an adjustable extension (highly recommended)2. Working one side at a time, use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the top and bottom clamps on the existing lifting column. Pull the existing strut out of both ball joints and install a new strut in the same position (cylinder lowers). For now I'm giving this product 5 stars (and will change it down if it doesn't work).
