Fits perfectly. at Spare Parts

The hood stays on my 2012 Hyundai Sonata and had to be replaced as it was no longer holding the hood. The dealer charged me almost $200 to put new ones in. Found these and decided it was worth a try for the price. They fit perfectly and it took about 3 minutes to remove the old ones and install this one. Hood is holding up well. Not sure about durability but for 1/10th the cost and such an easy install even if I have to replace it again in a couple of years it's still great value.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Easy to mount on lift legs

Works great on my 2013 Sonata. Only $20 for both elevators seems good value. Simply remove the metal rings from the top and bottom of any old car jack and then remove them. You can use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the metal strips. Once the old jacks are removed, simply install the new ones as is. Nothing more! Not only do they hold up better than the factory jacks, they even raise the hood when you let go. I recommend and will buy again.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Low maintenance

They fit well on my 2013 Sonata GSL 2.4L. Took

Perfect fit for my 2013 Sonata GLS 2.4L. It only took 30 seconds to pry out the old posts with a flathead screwdriver and the new ones snapped into place after a light push on each end of the post. Now my hood no longer falls off unexpectedly. The dealer wants to charge me $120 for this 2 minute parts job. My fingers were smeared with black old grease, but it's not at all like crawling under a car. Put on a pair of disposable gloves if yours get dirty.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Few small things

Good quality, not as strong as OEM

Hood supports delivered and arrived on time. They arrived in a plastic bag. No papers or warranty information. Appearance is almost identical to regular racks. Easy to install. Bought to replace 4 year old struts that no longer raise the hood like they did when new. Raise the hood about 2 inches. To do this, you need to raise the hood about a foot and a half, then lift the hood and prop it up. I probably wouldn't buy this brand again.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good

Easy installation: lift legs

Front hood gas struts just installed to replace a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Installation is very simple: 1. Support the hood with a piece of wood or an adjustable extension (highly recommended)2. Working one side at a time, use a flathead screwdriver to loosen the top and bottom clamps on the existing lifting column. Pull the existing strut out of both ball joints and install a new strut in the same position (cylinder lowers). For now I'm giving this product 5 stars (and will change it down if it…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors

I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with a purchase

I am very impressed. These supports appear to be very strong. I've had the car for seven years now and I don't remember exactly how strong the original hood brackets were when the car was new but I think these brackets are just as good if not stronger than the original OEM brackets. Once my hood is raised a quarter of the way these struts have enough strength to raise it all by themselves. Given that OEM Hyundai lifts are around $240 a pair and under $20, that's not a problem. I don't think…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
