Received two brackets on the driver's side

Instead of one bracket on the passenger and driver's side, I got 2 brackets on the driver's side. I was able to install but due to the two identical sides I have to attach one side to the tailgate at a 45 degree angle and then carefully rotate it 135 degrees to attach the other side. This makes it impossible to load anything that might go off the shelf as I wouldn't be able to put it back in. tl; dr - I have two brackets on the driver's side so I can't fully utilize the gate. Degree.
