I bought it for a high end Lenovo W540 which comes with a professional graphics card, 32GB RAM and an i7-4800MQ processor. CPU. The machine is designed for resource-intensive construction and work with CAD. Despite installing a 256GB Transcend M.2 SSD in addition to the pre-installed 2.5" SSD, I ran out of storage space. To be honest, I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount (more than most HDDs and some SSDs these days I'm pleased to report that the caddy fits perfectly into the W540 case. Installing the M500 960GB SSD was easy and everything worked like clockwork. Really can't say it wasn't It's a Lenovo part, cheap looking case, I now have three SSDs running the W540.
