I really like these Enerwave relays and have used several to add circuits to my Zwave network (smartthings). During the last installation, a cabinet was switched on with a switch-socket combination. This really isn't available with zwave built in and these relays are a good alternative. Relays switch on/off immediately. Using your network (e.g. from a smartphone app) to toggle the switch will only toggle the switch on and off. In that sense, it's like adding a three-way switch, with the new switch built into your application. Activation can be a bit tricky. They're supposed to automatically go into wake mode if you toggle the switch on and off multiple times after installation, but I've had no luck with that. There is a small button on the device that can be pressed with a paperclip to force the mode and it works much better. The last ones I powered up the table with a simple switch and outlet and powered up prior to installation. This made it easier to troubleshoot and ensure the unit was working properly before proceeding with installation in the electrical box. Once or twice I had to turn off the device before turning it on. Revain stock purchases may have already entered someone else's network, so an exception would be needed (and was for me).
