Review on The Art & Craft of Pyrography: Drawing with Fire on Various Surfaces (Fox Chapel Publishing) - Patterns, Projects & Expert Advice by Lora S. Irish by Amanda Castillo

Laura Irish is one of the best pyrographers

Laura Irish is one of the finest pyrography artists, teachers and writers and this book clearly demonstrates her talent both in the art and in the way she simply explains the techniques of this fascinating art. This book covers so much for both beginners and experts. This book covers the necessary basic materials, practice boards, different surfaces (such as leather, gourd, paper, fabric and chipboard with step-by-step instructions for each) to design templates consisting of 43 different ones. If you are a beginner, this book will give you a detailed guide to strokes, shading and everything you need to know before picking up a pencil. Personally, I'm afraid to buy tutorials and pattern books without being able to review them first because they don't come cheap, so I'm including a few pictures so you can get an idea of what you're buying. I am very happy with this book and believe me you will not go wrong if you decide to buy it.
