Review on 💾 QNAP TL-R1200S-RP 12 Bay 2U Rackmount SATA 6Gbps JBOD Storage Enclosure with Redundant Power Supply + PCIe SATA Interface Card (QXP-1600eS) by Sean Davis

I've had it for about a month now and so far the speed is good. I can't comment on other people's reviews, but I'm using this as my second QNAP NAS expansion and setup was a breeze. So I migrated my existing drives to this one and upgraded it with 12TB drives (HD prices have skyrocketed so I couldn't get 16TB drives). The biggest point of criticism is the fan noise! I absolutely hate it and I will be voiding my warranty and opening this up soon to replace the fans with Nomura Silent fans like I did with my current QNAP NAS as well as the Unifi Switch. As mentioned in the previous review, the fan speed isn't controlled by the software and even if I set it to low it keeps spinning up and down which is awful. And my QNAP shows it spins at 9500RPM compared to my NAS which has 6 drives at 1700RPM. So something is wrong there.
