Review on πŸ”§ GEARWRENCH 1/4" and 3/8" Drive 120XP Flex Head Teardrop Ratchet Set – Dual Material | 81204P by Michael Gonzales

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Wobbly experience

I have a 1/2" GearWrench and I have to admit it's one of my least favorite tools, although it gets the job done. Although I've decided to keeping this ratchet I will be returning these two.The main reason I didn't pay attention to these ratchets is that they don't seem to be well balanced overall, at least to me.The head is too heavy, the handle feels like a harder plastic than the rubber grips, too flimsy and difficult to grip. The general feeling of instability, difficult to describe, makes me hesitant to use them. But what I like least about them (including the 1/2". that I have left over) is the flex head mechanism, which uses fairly large steps between successive settings and can feel very unstable when working at an angle int - it's constantly changing from one position to another is in the process of tightening, which makes the whole process pretty shaky. It may come as a shock to many people that I think Harbor Freight suits my preferences much better, although it's easy to turn it on and off accidentally and it's only 72 clicks. But they are by far my favorite ratchet and I'm sure I'll swallow my words if I need a 120-click ratchet that's not in my arsenal when working in tight spaces.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are nuances
