Description of 🔧 GEARWRENCH 1/4" and 3/8" Drive 120XP Flex Head Teardrop Ratchet Set – Dual Material | 81204P

120XP ratchets have 2 double stacked 60-tooth pawls (120 positions) providing a 3° swing arc so you can turn fasteners in tighter confines. Double-stacked pawls alternately engage the 60 tooth gear, providing exceptional strength. Flexible head provides access for hard to reach fasteners. Enclosed head design for extreme resistance to dirt infiltration. Highly visible markings on the head. Longer reach handle to access hard-to-reach fasteners. Bright, full polish chrome finish easily wipes clean and resists corrosion. Dual material comfort grip handle. Meets or exceeds ASME specifications.

The gear wrench is unbeatable

Everything is made abroad anyway. Gearwrenches are of excellent quality and are usually at the forefront of technology or innovation. The flex head became popular after they launched it and then the 120xp. I bought them a few years ago and a bunch of Tool Cart visitors went out and started buying them. Same guarantee as everything else, but you can guarantee it from retailers! You don't have to look for a stupid truck. 120 makes it really smooth. It takes about a day to get used to the flexible

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Safety

These ratchets are used and should not be sold as new.

Was a bit hesitant after reading the feedback on the status of these tools. As others have mentioned, the ratchets I received were badly scratched and ruined. I made an exchange and the second set was actually in worse condition. Functionally, they may be fine, but when you're paying the price for a new instrument, you want to be the one scratching it. I chose not to open any of the sets and have sent them back. Walmart has the same set for a few bucks more with 2 day delivery. Therefore, I…

Good value, fine ratchet

I've used 1/4" and 3/8" ratchet on a few small garage projects and so far so good. Haven't used it for anything really high torque yet so can't comment on the ratchet's strength/durability yet. They turn the ratchet very easily so my "I'm not an engineer but I play one of these on TV" is wondering how durable they will be with higher/heavier use. I'm used to a heavier/harder ratchet, as are my other wrenches (Cobalt wrenches with large teeth and Armstrong with fine teeth). However, this is…

Reliable ratchets

Monday to Friday Saturday and a half I've been testing these ratchets since I bought this set of gear wrenches in 2019. 04 Honda Civics whose extension value was changed to 06 Ford F150 with 5.4 Triton replacing timing chain and oil pump. The 120-tooth ratchet head allows me to tighten nuts and bolts in tight spaces, and the flexible head helps too. The extra length of this ratchet gives me the extra braking torque I need for those stubborn bolts I might encounter while working on the brakes…

Review Professional Technition

I don't usually write reviews but thought I'd pay up front for this ratchet set. My experience, I am a mechanic in one of the branches of the military, as well as a technician in the local marina. I've been using them for several months and I'm completely satisfied with the quality here. Transmissions are smooth and quiet. I normally use 3/8 and 1/4 drive rigs but have since switched to this set. As long as they appear indestructible. I value these things a lot and they always last. This is my…

  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Comfortable to hold and STRONG

First of all, I'm a skilled mechanic with almost 20 years of experience. I haven't used anything but Snap-on, Blue Point, Mac and some Armstrong for about 16 years. For the price I find it unbeatable. I was in a bind and had to mentally copy this 3/8 ratchet since I was out and didn't have any tools with me. I was sure it would break, but that was all I had at the time. We're all familiar with those jerky repairs you just need to get home. I had a 3/8 ratchet on that bolt, it was buried deep…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Wobbly experience

I have a 1/2" GearWrench and I have to admit it's one of my least favorite tools, although it gets the job done. Although I've decided to keeping this ratchet I will be returning these two.The main reason I didn't pay attention to these ratchets is that they don't seem to be well balanced overall, at least to me.The head is too heavy, the handle feels like a harder plastic than the rubber grips, too flimsy and difficult to grip. The general feeling of instability, difficult to describe, makes…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are nuances

Satisfied so far.

I've been using this semi-professionally (usually 3-4 times a week at tech school) for about half a year now and I think that's long enough for me to comment reasonably. Haven't had any wear issues so far, but it hasn't really been long-term, so I still tend to view it as a "lack of obvious and immediate issues". The head is also quite thin, which is nice. As for the flexible head, I personally like the latches that hold it in place, yes it's not as "infinitely" adjustable but it's probably…

  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions
