Great Item! Yes it's from China, and there are others here and online that are exactly the same, but maybe with a compass instead of an alarm below. Or others have a battery with a higher capacity. Solid for the price and I'm reviewing this thing right now as I tried to use her or her words in the car but the battery died. So I booked it back just thinking there was a small chance it wouldn't work again for some reason. But he did the right thing. My parents bought one of these models, as I said, but in a different place. and a company called 4Patriots. My dad likes their US methodology and something about supporting US troops, so he buys other things there as well, like spare food. I don't think I want to tell him that the flashlight he bought there is also made in China! So. I love all the features. Haven't bothered to test solar options yet! Maybe I'll be there in the summer when the sun is just rising. Also, I don't know the capacity of the battery in mAh as I tried unscrewing the bottom to see if the battery would pop out. But the battery seems to be attached to the circuit board. I see this model is currently unavailable. go ahead and get one for your car from someone else. This was a HUGE upgrade from my previous 3AAA plastic HeroBeam LED flashlight. I liked this one too, but this one can charge your phone, has a solar panel, etc. Good luck!
