Review on W.J. Hagerty Hagerty 12170 πŸ”΅ Silversmiths' Silver Wash: 19oz Blue Bottle by Daniel Teller

Better than many, but no wonder.

I clean a lot of silver (rather relaxing, give it a try if you haven't already) . So, I have some issues with this beautiful four silver plate teapot. With homeopathic methods and some effort I've already managed to remove most of the tarnish. But sometimes it goes too far and you need a little extra help. But you have to use it more than once and over and over again with some elbow strength. You have to remember THIS IS NOT MAGIC - and any polish you use will take some of the real silver with it (especially important to note if you're cleaning a silver plate). These polishes are great to have on hand, but are best used after trying the old method of salt, baking soda, hot water, and aluminum foil. With that in mind, yes it works great. But don't expect your black coating to "magically" disappear in an instant without a good rub. Another important tip is to feel the faded area before you start. If you can feel the difference between a tarnish and silver, you're probably not feeling tarnish, you're feeling silver torn from the surface and no matter what you do, it won't come out. You have to repaint it. Something to consider before considering a similar item. In short, never expect a product to work unless you make an effort. That's why I'm giving it four stars - to make my point clear.
