Review on Victorinox RH Forschner BladeSafe: Ultimate Protection for 6-Inch to 8-Inch Knife Blades by Maurice Matlock

This is a good solid safe or should I say storage for your chef's knife. Unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers' comments about the small rubber buffers. The manufacturer REALLY needs to review the chemistry of these bumpers. They do their job very well and hold the blade securely in place; However, they leave ugly marks on the blade. I haven't found a way to completely remove the labels yet. Of course I don't like marks on my Victorinox blades! There are workarounds: a piece of tissue paper, the rest of a paper towel, a very thin piece of fabric, a piece of thin cardboard. They all work more or less and none of them are really satisfactory. And since this guard isn't as easy to open or close, including these workarounds only makes the knife more difficult to access or store. Pros: very reliable protection Cons: difficult to open/close; unpleasant small signs of abrasion on the blade
