Don't throw it in the knife box of high-end utensils. I was a bit skeptical about the slip lid but the price made it attractive so I ordered one and covered the knife blade with it.     Protecting sharp edges from accidental damage is not easy in most of our kitchens. Nor should our finest razor-sharp knives be stored in such a way as to protect unwary fingers from cutting injuries. In the past I have made my own sheaths that did not come with the saya. This sheath provides easy access. He is durable. The design is great for use with a variety of blade styles from the 8" Victorinox slicer, 8" chef's knife to the 8" custom gyuto.     I'm pickier than I thought.

    Bought this guard after reading the reviews that said 4 rubber pads leave marks on the knife. I figured it wouldn't bother me too much. I was wrong. After scraping off the markings several times before each use, I eventually pulled the pads out of the protector and threw them away. I considered putting some paper between the knife and the pads, as several reviewers have, but I remembered that the paper contained acid and I was concerned about the acid's long-term effect on the blade.     I've cooked in busy kitchens, queues, catering and so on. I have tried every knife sheath available and this is by far the best. I want one in different sizes. As for all the reviews talking about the "marks" rubber supports left on the knife, ⚠️ WAHHHHHHHH! SERIOUS?! It leaves a small mark that is instantly erased without even causing any inconvenience!     This is a good solid safe or should I say storage for your chef's knife. Unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers' comments about the small rubber buffers. The manufacturer REALLY needs to review the chemistry of these bumpers. They do their job very well and hold the blade securely in place; However, they leave ugly marks on the blade.     Great for storing knives

    The only good place to keep knives in my kitchen, off the cooking area, is in a drawer. I bought these shields many years ago for this system to work and it works. My mom saw them a few times but didn't need them as her knives hung nicely on the magnetic knife rack on the wall.     Great knife guard, weird residue

    I needed a knife guard that met three criteria: it protects the knife from knocks in the drawer, the guard itself doesn't damage the knife, and it should be fine to travel.
