This nut grinder works well. It grinds pecans and walnuts finer than I'd like, but it does a decent job and saves me a lot of time. The "blades" are not sharp at all, but break the nuts into pieces quite well. I was hoping for someone like my mom and grandma and it's pretty close. I'm still looking for something that actually cuts nuts into fairly large chunks. It's important to note that this grinder isn't designed for almonds, but it's strong and durable enough for pecans and walnuts, which I've used it for. The clear glass receptacle is also sturdy and holds about a cup of chopped nuts. The grinding chamber is made of white plastic and its lid closes securely. The grinder and the handle are made of metal. I tried not to get it wet but I left extra nuts in and haven't had any rusting issues.
