Took a step to get to the top shelf of the bookshelf. That's great. Assembly was pretty easy. I used Minwax "Golden Oak" for the finishing. I would have preferred Puritan Pine, but I already had Golden Oak. I used a coat of linseed oil and a beeswax based finish to give it some water resistance without making it slippery. he looks great The only thing is that the screw heads are visible. I'll leave them open so I can tighten them as needed, but maybe in the future I'll drill some dowels and glue everything together for a cleaner finish. The only tools I needed were in the kit and I just used old rags to apply the stain.
