Update: We ended up keeping them. There really was no point in such a small return. Since my puppy is always next to me and the sofa is near the front door. I can hear the bells perfectly when he rings them from this distance. I am giving these beautiful wind chimes a low rating because they are so quiet. I make an effort to hear them. If you have a dog that uses its paw and runs around town I could see how this would work for you. Unfortunately my pup uses his nose and I can barely hear it. If I was in another room I wouldn't even know if he called her. Their length is also exceptionally large. They're almost touching my bottom, so I'd have to modify them if they worked. I was so excited to get these because I didn't want the usual jingle bells they sell - they were one of a kind. I like their color but I have to go back because they don't suit me.
