Review on Actron CP7830 Vacuum Pump for Handheld Applications by Punk Espinoza

Revainrating 5 out of 5

BANKS? GOATS? for tools and equipment

First, Actron is a manufacturer/importer of precision test equipment for the automotive industry (see "Automotive" for their products). They are not suitable for sealing cans, cans or barn milk. You should have received a (very short AUTO) manual when you bought it. Contact your dealer or Actron if you have not already done so. This is my first Actron vacuum gun. It worked out of the box, which is why I gave it 5 stars. I've never had a vacuum gun that didn't work right out of the box; a few years later it's a different story. I just smashed a competitor's expensive metal model, only with the sensor intact. Restored a few years ago, it's leaked recently every time I needed it the most. I have maintained this device and never used it to bleed the brakes. Brakes: This model does not have the required attachments, but they can be obtained. I've never been able to bleed the brakes with small handheld vacuum guns; I just built a bicep and screwed up a gun. I may have overfilled the bottle or held the testers incorrectly. Maybe they couldn't handle the powerful braking systems of vintage muscle cars. Others have used them successfully, although I'm not sure on which vehicles. What this product does for its predictable durability is its apparent simplicity. It's made in China and feels cheap and basic compared to its main competitor, but basic (simple and straightforward design) can be a good thing. We will see.
