Review on Renewed Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming Laptop: 15.6" 144Hz, AMD Ryzen 7-4800H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, RTX 2060 6GB, Phantom Black by Bambang Tjahaya ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Completely standard product, nothing remarkable.

took a complete set i7 10750h rtx2060 6gb 8 gb ddr4 (later changed to two strips of 8 gb each (total 16)) 512 gb ssd ips 1920x1080 60hz The webcam and built-in microphone are standard. For communication on Skype, discord will do, for streaming it will already be so-so. Up to two external monitors can be connected to the laptop, one via HDMI, the second via the display port in the usb type c on the back. The sound from the speakers is average, watching video with the participation of the conversation is no problem. In general, the laptop is not bad, I would continue to use it if it were not for the marriage that occurred in my case. We upset the processor temperatures in games, they were high. I don’t know, maybe the fact is that it’s Intel or this particular model has such a cooling. I considered a laptop for medium games (sometimes demanding), work with graphics and sound. === I was able to replace this laptop under warranty, 9 months after purchase, with a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (ryzen 5 5600h, rtx3060 6gb, 32gb ddr4, 1tb ssd). At the time of writing this review, I've only been using the Legion 5 Pro for two days, but surprisingly the Ryzen 5 5600h, with about the same performance as the i7 10750h, performed much better, with 12 threads of 4 ghz it didn't warm up much (max 85 degrees ), at least these 2 days. The cooling on the Legion 5 pro handles the Ryzen pretty well. I’ve gone a little off the topic of Legion 5 on Intel, but you never know, suddenly someone will be interested to know about Legion 5 Pro on Ryzen. After a couple of months I will post a review about the Pro version with Ryzen.

Pros
  • Good build quality, the case is made of plastic, but the lid does not bend much. When moving the laptop, the lid with the display does not wobble like other laptops. The number of usb is acceptable, as well as their location is very convenient The screen is very good, the brightness is sufficient, the colors are juicy, I was drawing on this laptop. The video card fulfills its own as for me. The keyboard is full-size, pleasant to press, for 9 months there were no problems with it. The DAC is good, the amplification was enough to shake the old good multimedia headphones.
Cons
  • There is no DVD drive, card reader, only 1 usb type c which is without a thunderbolt (it has a display port). i7 10750h gets very hot in games and all sorts of demanding programs. Most of the time, the laptop was used without a turbo boost of processor frequencies (there were 12 threads at ~2.7 ghz). With all this, the processor managed to heat up above 95 degrees. (with turbo boost it is already clear that everything was very hot)) The stock SSD was heated around 60 degrees most of the time === After almost a year of use, it began to freeze tightly during the game, later even on the desktop, it turned out to be a marriage, a problem with the board. In this case, I seem to be so lucky, because most of them were okay with it.
