I’m not a novice.2006 Jetta mk5 Does NOT work with this unit. The knob and radio facia does not fit back on. You’ll have to cut the top of your facia surround off and trim the inside edge to make it fit around the radio. From reading other reviews it seems to fit MK6’s better.Bad wiring: the mk5 wiring harness is incorrect and leaves the power to the radio even with the keys out of ignition and car off. Even manually pushing power Button only dims to a black (but still illuminated) screen with date/time. This killed my brand new premium NAPA AMG battery after my car sat for 2 days. Yes the battery was fully trickle charged. I anticipate this might be able to be fixed by correcting the accessory wire on/off in the wiring loom.Bluetooth calls not great. It works but sounds fuzzy and distant for the person
