So the thermometer itself works great. However, there are two reasons I gave it a fourth star. First, the screen is hard to see, it should be set low so you can view it from above to increase contrast. If you look at it at level I, it will look very dark. This is due to the type of LCD used and appears to be intentional. The second reason is that a setpoint must always be programmed. You can't just use it to read the temperature without comparing it to a set point. This can get tiring as a loud beep will sound once the set value is reached. I ended up custom setting an insanely high temperature so I could read it without beeping. Thing is any stars, just worth mentioning. It has magnets on the back so you can attach it to something else if needed.
