We have a lot of bumps and cracks in the pavement here. It is not safe to ride a small wheel scooter on uneven sidewalks or paved paths as you can easily trip and fall. These 8 inch rubber wheels really offer more stability and absorb more shock than polyurethane wheels. I believe that's why it didn't come with a suspension. I no longer have to get off the scooter and walk over bumps. Another advantage of this scooter is the low deck height. The low platform height means a low center of gravity. I am very confident that I can be fast on any surface.
