I have a case full of metric bolts that I never used because there weren't any matching nuts are . So I tried to use this hardware at some point when I might need it, rather than just leaving an assortment of screws in use. I tried sizes M3, M4, M5, M6 and M8. Everything is smoothly threaded by hand to the beginning of the nylock. So I decided not to try the M10 or M12 based on the excellent results of the first five. You now have a complete set of metric nylock bolts and nuts to use anytime for just a few dollars to buy this beautiful and portable nut kit. Very satisfied. I'm a big believer in Nighlok for the quality of the grip. I've never seen a "retaining" nut of any kind (including nylock) ever come loose from a bolt. I'm a former GM engineer who has helped assemble over 2 million vehicles in the GM assembly department. Auto manufacturers use locknuts (mostly compression nuts instead of nylock due to the lower price of compression nuts) because they won't loosen with vibration or use.
