I bought this for a knife handle. It worked well, but I didn't understand what I was getting myself into. It is an ebony tree, one of the hardest trees in the world. Grinding to adjust dimensions is next to impossible. Grinding for finishing purposes only. Because the wood is incredibly dense, it takes a long time to saw through and can crack if drilled properly. Realize what you are buying is hardwood to shape and use, but it's worth it. Ebony is absolutely amazing when properly polished and once I'm done polishing I'll update my review.
