I do all the work on the car myself and couldn't wear this thing for life. I tried about 5 times, ended up removing the heat shield and it really made things easier. I tried prying back the heat shield with a pry bar, thinking that would have given me the space I needed, but it doesn't compare to removing it. Underneath are 2 10mm screws. Then he took it off just below the steering shaft. I moved the shield down and didn't remove it completely. then he made it so that I can easily screw in the top screw, which I couldn't do before. I also have long skinny arms and my fingers still can't get it off. I did the top first and that allowed me to go neither down nor down. It's not that easy to get under me, this is an '04 Tahoe with a 24th and a 3/5 drop. I can't even get my head under it without lifting it in the air. I just broke this screw. Not sure if it was leaking or not, but it made some noise on a cold start. Now I know if it is wss or another problem.
