Review on Victorinox Fibrox Chefs Knife 8 Inch Kitchen & Dining by Tricia Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent budget chef's knife

Victorinox 8"chef's knife My review of the Victorinox 8" chef's knife. I bought this knife on 11/24/2020 after seeing a review of the best "budget" chef's knives at the American Test Kithen. Arrived on 11/27/2020. Not bad considering the holiday got in the way. As you can see from the photo, this is not a cheap Asian fake or a used knife wrapped in a few layers of bubble wrap. Came in sealed factory packaging. Straight out of the box this knife was insanely sharp. I put it through the old-fashioned paper test, trying to cut a sheet of fine paper. It went through like a hot knife through butter. I tested it against a Farberware chef's knife that I used. When this knife went through the paper, it didn't cut through the paper, it basically ripped it up like a chainsaw. I thought I'd try a newspaper page that's a lot thinner. Again he walked past like he wasn't there, I might as well cut the air. At this point I'm totally impressed and haven't even tested it on real food yet. After visiting the local grocery store I bought some salad dressing tools. cucumber and tomato. This knife went through them without breaking a sweat. Same for the bow. I couldn't believe I could cut it. Along with this knife I also bought a Victorinox RH Forschner BladeSafe for 8" to 10" blades, which I will cover in another review. Money.

Pros
  • Swiss Article No: 5.2063.20 printed on the blade. This is exactly the same knife as the 40520, 47520, 45520 and 47520.US2. The only difference is how the knife is packaged.
Cons
