Cannot plug this in a standard outlet

I spent 98 bucks on this so I could warm my covered porch area while my friends social distanced. It was not made clear that this device is not made for plugging into a standard American wall outlet. I was going to buy an adapter but found out that it wouldn't work and would probably flip the breaker switch or worse.Update: I discovered I had one of these outlets out in my woodshop so I tried the heater out while working on a cold day and it was lukewarm at best, only if you stood directly in front of it. It did not even begin to heat my shop. Useless. Do not buy.
