Not suitable for door hardware and locks

I was trying to install this on my front door which only has a deadbolt. It was nearly impossible to close the door while holding the item in the hole cut in the door frame as advertised. Once closed, the pin kept falling off before I could slide it through one of the cut holes with one hand! I ended up jamming it in one. However, when I left, I unbolted the latch, pulled the door towards me and the lock just fell to the ground. I don't know why I bought two of these. Useless to me, but I tried to avoid switching to a latch with a key.
