Review on Honey Refractometer: 3-in-1 Moisture, Brix, and Baume Tester with ATC - Ideal for Honey, Maple Syrup, and Molasses! by Daniel Teller

This is not my first refractometer. I've had the old one for almost ten years now and use it for honey several times a year. Well, this defractometer is VERY inaccurate. I calibrated with two different types of extra virgin olive oil set at 71.5% Brix (both showed exactly 71.5%) and then tested it with two different types of honey that I measured last year with my old refractometer (which is now broke) and measured I know they have a water content of 17-18%. This refractometer reads 15.5% for both honeys after being calibrated for extra virgin olive oil! This is impossible, honey does not happen 15.5%, and even more so not two different! Even when looking at the % water scale, the spacing between the lines is uneven. The gap between 18 and 19% is double the gap between 22 and 23%. I don't know who made the % water scale but he was probably drunk. In any case, this refractometer is useless in that sense, so I have no choice but to return it.
