Review on Topeak Super Tourist DX Trunk Rack with Side Bar for Disc Brake Bicycles by Joseph Swanson

Let me qualify here first. I left the bike shop two years ago. I've been in the bike retail business for 35 years. So I'll tell you what I've told my clients. "Everything Topeak does is top notch!" Topeak Super Tourist is Topeak's strongest shock that comes without a spring. The feather is not needed unless you have a specific purpose. I bought this Super Tourist for my daughter and her grumpy disc brake trucker that she uses to commute to and from her place of work in Portland, Oregon. She doesn't have a car. So I had a grocery store and a multipurpose shelving unit in mind for her. See how this rack has a horizontal bar just below the top of the rack platform. This is a great place to mount holdalls or the Wald Baskets collapsible baskets she intends to use on them. All Topeak luggage racks are powered by their own brand of bags and baskets. It's just awesome how they slide over the top players' channel and are fully locked with a spring-loaded button that unlocks instantly with a push of a button. Not only does it come with high quality stainless steel bolts and nylock nuts, but also two stainless steel washers for each bolt and attachment point. The racks are slightly longer than most brands, so more bikes can fit on them. (level) It works SO WELL! There are higher quality frames that are stronger but also heavier and MUCH more expensive. There are lighter racks that are cheaper and may even look the same at first glance. (There are many subtle differences, please take my word for it.) But nothing beats utility, price, quality, fit, options, and ease of use and installation. Note: I set this up in her apartment using her little tool box I got her for Christmas when she was 12. It took me about ten minutes. Comes with instructions and complete Topeak brochure. I rate it a 10 and A+++. Even if there are better racks at ridiculously high prices.
