Bought this for my wife and my Giant Roam 2 bike. It extends far enough that I can see past my hand even though we have flat handlebars. I've seen people complain about the complexity of the installation. Of course, my first attempt failed trying to hold the mirror, bottom bracket, nuts in the bracket and inserting the bolt, but I remembered an old trick my dad taught me. Simply stick a piece of paper in each nut hole on the bottom bracket to hold these nuts in place. That helped me and after that the build was pretty easy. Visibility is pretty good for the size of the mirror.
