Review on Norpro KLEVE Stainless 3 5 Inch Paring by Mary Maybank

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A good workhorse, especially if you can get it cheap!

I've had other Kleve knives before, so I chose this as a match, although it's not that important for a paring knife to have a full shaft, heavy-duty steel, Double bearer, Lyada-Lyada-Lyada. It works well as a paring knife. I bought it for about $10 so it's better than most at this price point. I wouldn't pay more. It's a really good, hard steel that I know holds a good edge and sharpens well, except the 3.5 isn't very easy to sharpen. Mine is still sharp (one year). UPDATE: These are NOT full stock knives (looks like they stopped claiming that). I checked it with an electromultimeter - there is no conductivity between the blade and the pommel (butt). I deducted a star for that - when they were bought, they were declared as fully-fledged.

Pros
  • Comfortable, ergonomic, non-slip, non-slip ABS handle
Cons
  • Very expensive
