Very minimal additional heat, if any, added to my aquarium. I put this under a 40 gallon aquarium with bearded dragons and the thermometer didn't move. The bottom of the tank might have been a little warmer, but that didn't transfer heat to the surrounding area. I disabled it and will not use it. Waste of $$ in my situation.
